Sheikh Mohammed Hassan told more than 10,000 worshippers that Egypt will remain an Eslamic state during the at Eid el-Fitr prayer at el-Hosary Park in 6 October City Monday evening.“Egypt is an Islamic state and will remain an Islamic state,” Hassan told worshippers. Hassan downplayed the affect of an Islamic state on Egyptian Coptic Christians, which make up about 10 percent of the population.
The Muslim Brotherhood Youth and Salafi groups helped organize the prayer.
Hassan reminded Egyptian youth of the necessity of unifying Egyptians, stopping protests, and seeking jobs to maintain Egypt’s state of security.
Hassan ended his sermon by praying for the Egyptian people and for all Arab countries to live in peace and security.
